Mike Romans questioned the board about the speed limit on Rt. 608, south of Rt. 6.  The speed limit by the fire station is 45 mph.  He believed the speed limit changed to 55 mph further down Rt. 608, but his friend was pulled over by the sheriff and told the speed limit was 45 mph.  Dave Heald said that there is a speed limit sign by the curve south of the fire station indicating 55 mph.

MINUTES
Mrs. Pope inquired to the Board if the minutes from the budget hearing and regular meeting of July 2, 2008 had been reviewed and were there any corrections or changes.  Mr. McClintock stated that he reviewed the minutes and found them to be correct and recommended that they be approved and waive the reading of the minutes.

Prior to the meeting Zoning Inspector, Darlene Welch submitted to the Board her activity report covering the period of July 1st to July 16th.  A copy of the activity report is attached for review.

ZONING
Mr. McClintock reported that HB 50 resolution was drafted by the Prosecutors office for Hambden Township to adopt.  HB 50 is for the removal of junk vehicles from private and public property.
RESOLUTION 2008-85:  made by Keith McClintock, seconded by Nadine Pope to approve resolution 2008-85 for adoption of HB 50, Removal of Junk Vehicles.  Upon call of roll: Mr. McClintock - yes, Mrs. Pope - yes and Mr. Kaminski - absent.  Motion carried.  A copy of resolution is attached for review.

Mr. McClintock reported that State Representative, Matt Dolan will be the guest speaker at the August 4th Zoning Commission meeting.  He will be here to discuss issues at the state house that deal with land use and zoning that may affect Hambden Township in the future.

Mr. McClintock reported that Senator Tim Grendell sent a preliminary draft of Chapter 3718, new legislation being proposed for sewage treatment systems that will have an impact on the residents of Hambden Township.  The new bill requires annual inspection of sewer systems and does away with point of sale inspections.  The cost range of the new systems is estimated between $6,500.00 and $19,000.00 depending on the type of system.  More than likely we are looking at the higher cost due to the heavy clay soil in our area.  Mr. Grendell is working to get some of these items removed to protect our property rights.

Mr. McClintock reported that the Comprehensive Land Use Planning Committee will not be meeting during the month of August.  In September they will be submitting to the trustee's survey recommendations they would like to send out to the community.
